I am going to define the word music. Music is humanly organized sound. Many people have different interpretations on the word music. If the person is coming from a classical background, they may make a definition relating to art song or classical song. The importance of defining music the way I am is because it is a larger definition encompassing different cultures under which different methods can now be considered music. The goal of my paper is to give insight to the reader on different musical genres across the world and demolish the idea that music is one specific thing. The audience of my paper will be for trained musicians that are currently enrolled in the School of Music.
Ok. My concern here is that if you're writing towards trained musicians they might already agree with what you are talking about. Perhaps it would make more sense to write to those who wouldn't think those forms of music are music.

ReplyDeletewell, I wanted to write towards classical musicians. Most musicians think that music is the songs relating to early classical to modern day broadway. They don't often think about the music that comes out of Africa, Balinese Culture, and Asia.
