Google makes us stupider...
I Believe Carr makes a very good argument on the fact that Google may be making us stupid. Throughout the article, she constantly is using a comparison of times. There is a flow between the introduction of books to the printing press to the modern day computer. She really tries to make the reader understand that no matter what the technology of each time period, humans have slowly began to loose the sense to think. Unfortunately, I strongly disagree with the articles premises. I believe that the internet is actually making us a group of smarter and more knowledgeable peoples. With more advances in technology and medicines, people can now go onto CNN's website and read about the advances that are happening across the world. Previously, people would have to wait months before any type of information would be able to travel to the United States. Wikipedia, one of the world's most visited sites, has new information up daily for readers to enjoy and particularly learn about. Hyperlinks are definitely an advantage for making humans smarter. Yes, people can now easily click a link and go to a new page, but people can now travel pages upon pages of new information and learn about things that weren't previously available.
